“Sharing Practical Know-how for Improved Risk Management"

Planet@Risk in Brief

GRF Davos is setting up an e‐journal called Planet@Risk that will serve as a means for assessing ‘grey literature’, reports, scientific reports, case studies, reviews but also scientific articles. By swiftly collecting and pooling these different types of literature, the documents are easier findable, accessible and citable as part of an interdisciplinary knowledge pool for the risk reduction and disaster management communities.

Planet@Risk as such contributes to bridging the gaps between science, practice, and different sectors in academia. It fosters a multidisciplinary approach, as it will in particular present results of inter‐ and transdisciplinary research projects with a special focus on their applicability in practice. Essentially, information from data and reports which is up to now difficult or even impossible to access and its quality often hard to judge can finally be put at use.

GRF Davos’ innovative e‐journal aims to support the establishment of a worldwide risk community committed to sharing know‐how and experience in a continuous dialogue – a crucial but unfortunately still insufficiently implemented element for a truly integrative approach in risk reduction and disaster management.
